The round steel is turned in the shape of a cone tip. This facilitates cutting. Place the die in the die holder, making sure that the notch is adjusted at the height of the middle screw. Tighten the screws with the enclosed screwdriver to prevent the die from slipping. Also, make sure that the screws engage in the pilot holes of the die and in the upper notch of the die to ensure a secure grip. You can use the die from both sides. It has a gate on each side.
Make sure that the gate is straight and lubricate with cutting oil. Then screw the die onto the bolt with light pressure. Turn the die back from time to time so that the chips can break.
